Box o’ Cards

Thursday, July 31st, 2008

2boxesIn my Box-a-licious post the other day I showed you the gift bag I’d made from the Easy Box Tutorial.

Well here are the two boxes I’ve made using that tutorial.

These boxes are easy and quick to make and will make lovely gifts for friends and family. You can pop a small present inside or even a selection of small cards.

4x4cardsnboxThe one I’m showing today is an adaptation of that bag. I have given it a flap and ribbon closure and inside there are four 4×4 cards inside.

I’ve made this one using the Spring flowers Designer Series Papers and the Simply Said stamp set. This is a great set and you get 11 stamps for under $50 - cant beat that!!

Below is a side on picture of the box with the selection of cards inside. As you can see they fit perfectly inside. I’ve used ribbon to tie mine closed but you could also use small velcro dots or small magnets to hold it all closed.

4x4cardsnboxsideThe box & card set is now available as a class. You get to make 4 cards and the box for just $20 and I supply all the materials you will need to complete this set.

So get a start on your christmas presents and book in for this class today.

Here is a picture of the complete set - it will make a lovely gift dont you think?

Treats for Hostesses!

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Well I must say when I got my sample Palette OPrints pad I was a little lost what to do with them as you might be too but wow have I had fun creating with them and I just want to share it all with you so I’m adding a little bonus for all my hostesses holding demonstrations during May and June.

Tower OBoxes

How cute are these little boxes? I was sitting wondering what else to do with these gorgeous papers and my eyes wandered to my shelf where I have the three little boxes my upline, Tracey, gave me for Christmas which were filled with lots of goodies like buttons, brads and ribbons. You can find the tutorial for these boxes at Kristina Werner’s blog.

Now I know you wont want empty boxes so I too will be putting little surprises in them - but they wont necessarily be brads and such - I might even put in a voucher or the like so you wont know until you hold your demonstration!

I will even show you how to create these darling boxes so you and your guests will all know how to create them for your own gift giving.

SourCreamTreats

Now because I’m feeling in a generous mood all those who contact me by midnight on Mother’s Day and book their demonstration in before 31st May will not only receive the tower of boxes but will also receive one of these containers also filled with little bits and pieces. The tutorial for these sour cream containers was written by my good friend Beate Johns and can be found at SplitCoast Stampers.

Also, if you attend a demonstration during May and book your own demonstration in June you will also receive one of these containers filled with little morsels to decorate your cards, scrapbook layouts and hand made gifts. There will be different goodies in each one so you wont get the same as someone else!

Now these little treats and bonuses I’m offering are only available from me and are in addition to the regular hostess benefits you would earn holding a demonstration.

Now I know some who read my blog are not close enough for me to come to your house to do a demonstration so if you would like to hold a ‘catalogue party’ then I will still send you these bonuses. Conditions do apply so please email me if youre interested.

So what are you waiting for?? email or phone me now to arrange your demonstration!

share a little love

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Well with just one week till Valentines I thought I’d make this little gift set to share with you - how make sure you send a link to this post to your spouse, partner, or boyfriend to remind them!

valentine set

This little set of goodies are very easy to make and could be made in a 2 hour class so contact me quickly if you’d like to make this set in time for Valentine’s Day - or if you would like to purchase a kit to make these then email me for details today!

valentine clip calendarI’ve used papers from the “Loves Me” Designer Series Paper pack - well there was nothing better for Valentine’s day! The set consists of a Coaster Gift Box, ‘Gluggie’ (Sour Cream Container) and a Clip stand Calender which I adapted from several I saw on Split Coast Stampers. You can find the tutorials for the gift box and sour cream container at Split Coast Stampers Projects page.

Supplies I used:

Stamp set: Lots of Thoughts (Sale-a-bration set), Wonderful Words
Paper: Loves Me Designer Series Paper, Chocolate Chip cardstock
Accessories: Coasters, On-board Chipboard, ribbon, silver cord, Pretty in Pink Brads, scissors, scalloped circle punch, 1 1/4″ circle punch, Crop-a-dile, sticky strip, Crystal Effects, Paper Piercing Mat, Anywhere Glue Stick, Large Paper Clip, paper trimmer, sanding block and pencil

valentine gluggie

Now remember I called the ’sour cream container’ a ‘Gluggie‘??

Well I’ll tell you why …. when I went to school (now we are talking just a few years here … well maybe a couple more than that!) we had these frozen ice blocks in containers that exact shape and they were called Glugs (cola flavour), Razz (Raspberry flavour) and Sunny Boys (orange flavour). These were the things I bought the most from the canteen at school - well from what I can remember anyways - surely you remember these too?

Little does my hubby know that this is his Valentine gift … tho I might change the bear for some chocolates & coffee beans! I suppose I’ll find out now if he reads my posts or not!

Have a great day and dont forget to take some time out for YOU!!

Card Keeper Tin

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

This is what I made for my sister for Christmas.

CardTin4Jo

She had seen my tin that i kept my cards in when I was visiting her in October and asked for one for Christmas.

I covered with the papers from Enchante Designer Series Paper pack from the Summer Mini Catalogue and i just love the perfect plum, mellow moss, pale plum and chocolate chip all together. I also used the wide chocolate chip grosgrain also from the Summer Mini and the standard brown grosgrain.

I used the Simon Lower chipboard letters to do the ‘Jo’ which i covered in the green leafy paper and then covered that in Crystal Effects and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds all over … makes a very feminine tin with a bit of Bling added. I also made 6 dividers for inside her tin for her different types of cards.

I find it is so much nicer to make gifts for people rather than going out and buying one - they know that you have put more effort into their gift than just buying something from a shop to wrap - it also means their gift is unique and no one else will have one like it!

If you would like to make one of these tins I am more than happy to come and do a class with you and some of your friends - email me for more details.
